Have you ever heard of adrenal fatigue? Obviously, one of the primary symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue is fatigue, but it can also cause:
You might wonder, how can the adrenal glands cause all of this?! Well, let me tell you! These little triangular glands at the top of each kidney produce hormones, such as sex hormones and cortisol. These glands help regulate your metabolism, immune system, blood pressure, response to stress, and many other critical functions. On top of all that, they also play a pivotal role in energy production, controlling the conversion of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats into blood glucose. In my book, cortisol is the tricky one. It's our body's built-in alarm system, a stress hormone. It works with your brain to control your mood, motivation, and fear. It helps you get through stressful circumstances giving you the energy boost you need at that moment. Now, imagine you're always in a state of stress, and you are constantly producing too much cortisol. This affects your sleep, how your body utilizes fats, proteins, and carbs, even how it handles inflammation, blood pressure, blood sugar, bone health, and digestive and reproductive systems. Dear stress, let's break up! I love this quote. "Sometimes, the best way to grow is to subtract." What do I mean? Well, who of us wouldn't benefit from; less time on our phone, on social media, with difficult people, or being too hard on ourselves. You get the idea. We need to eliminate the harmful and unnecessary to establish a nervous system baseline. This month, please keep on the lookout for my educational email series (that you must opt into if you want to receive) about just this subject—adrenal fatigue and what triggers it and what you can do about it. You're going to learn so much. Here's are a couple of gems to help you right now. Know your stressors.
Have you ever heard of a stress journal? Track what's triggering your anxiety and causing your cortisol cascade.
Learn how to say "no."
If you're from the Midwest, this might be a hard one. Ha! Just remember, it's modesty to say no sometimes. You can't pour from an empty cup!
Support your adrenal glands with specific vitamins and minerals that will help your adrenals to function more efficiently.
A few vitamins that are well known adrenal supporters are Vitamin C, Niacin, B vitamins, Folate, and Pantothenic Acid. Great minerals are magnesium, zinc, and manganese. Below is the product feature. You will see a few adrenal complex products that I love and highly recommend when it comes to adrenal fatigue. Of course, most of you know that I do bioenergetic screening in my office as well. This can help to find out what specific supplement will help your deficiency.
As if adrenal fatigue symptoms weren’t enough, cortisol imbalances can also put you at a greater risk of developing both physical and mental health issues. So, it’s time to address this. We can do this!
